The Studio designed a T-shirt for a photographic exhibition about the Tuareg world.
The exhibition shows the costums, the culture and the way of life of these nomadic people.

The T-shirt are sold at 10 € and the badges at 2€.

All the money raised will be for the kids of the L'école des sables located in the North of Mali.

BRAVOS PRESENTATION IN MADRID

Tomorrow 9th of March at 19:30h will be presenting the book BRAVOS in the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid.
The book is edited by Juli Capella and published by AECID (Agencia Española de Cooperación Internacional para el Desarrollo). Portraits by Rafael Vargas.
The book offers us a view of contemporary Spanish design through 21 chapters of text and illustration dealing with 21 designers, all of whom were born after 1960.
The profiles were selected to reflect the rich diversity of geographic origins, tendencies and approaches while displaying high standards of quality on product design.
DIEGO RAMOS STUDIO is among them.

Last month Surtido organized a pop-up store showing limited editions, prototypes, experimental work and one offs of more than 20 designers.

The store was located in the Otrascosas de Villarrosas Gallery in the center of Barcelona, and was a big success.

Our studio developed the project and the design of the space.

We just received a copy of the book "BRAVOS - Groundbreaking spanish design"

The book offers us a view of contemporary Spanish design through 21 chapters of text and ilustration dealing with 21 designers, all of whom were born after 1960.
The profiles of these 21 designers were selected to reflect the rich diversity of geographic origins, tendencies and approaches while displaying high standards of quality on product design.

The book is edited by Juli Capella and published by Lunwerg.
All the portaits of the designers were taken by Rafael Vargas.

Graphite Chair designed by Diego Ramos Studio is been shortlisted in the Best New Product category at this year' annual Blueprint awards.

Graphite chair by Diego Ramos is the result of experimentation with materials. The inner structure of the chair is a metallic core mixed with expandable foam and the exterior surface is latex and resin treated with Tyvek. This example is complete with a black ink and UV varnish finish.

Eyes On Spanish Design Exhibition in Neo2 Magazine (September issue)

Eyes On Spanish Design is an exhibition with the work of 9 young Spanish designers, that will take part in 100% Design in London, this September. The exhibiton will show new works of this young talented designers.

The studio will show the Graphite Chair and the 20/1 Vase.

The exhibition is holded by DDI and ICEX.

We just unpacked the first working prototype of the 20x1 Vase.

Thanks to the division of a vase in different parts we got 6 elements that can be arranged in diferent ways.

Thanks to these combinations we have a large range of posibilities. Each one give us a diferent vase, with a different shape.

Caterina Barjau shoot these photos of the Geo Vases we did for an upcomming exhibition in Switzerland.
The Geo Vases are a collection of vases made out of geometric patterns of Tyvek glued together with a hot melt adhesive.

In the the next photo we can see the Gold Series. In this case the geometric patterns made out of Tyvek are combined with one that is electro-gold plated.

Flexo typo is a typography made of the elements of a flexo lamp. The combination betwen the pieces of it give us a flexibility ot create the flexo typeface.

CREACION INJUVE 2008 EXHIBITION

As a shortlisted in the design prize CREACION INJUVE 2008 some of the products of the studio will take part in the exhibition organized by the Spanish Goverment.

Knife!!!, Cucump3, Geo Vases "Gold Series" and a new chair called GRAPHITE CHAIR will take part in the exhibition.

The opening of the exhibition will be the 4th of December at 20h at Circulo de Bellas Artes in Madrid.

We just return from Tokyo and we are ready to show you some photos of the instalation and the new collection of products.

We introduce a family of lamps with asymmetrical shades, a modular rug system, a set of geometric vases, spongy feelings chairs and fancy gold plated bags.

Wrinkle's beauty - Chairs made out of expanded foam and Tyvek.

Tyvek is a brand of flash spun high-density polyethylene fibres, a synthetic material; the material is a very strong; it is difficult to tear but can easily be cut with scissors or any other sharp object. It’s Waterproof. Tyvek superficially resembles paper, it can be written and printed on.

We cut it, we fold it, we punch it, we sew it, we glued it, we painted it, and combined it with latex, resins and foams to create what we called the "TYVEK WORLD”

Tyvek World (a project developed by Diego Ramos and Luis Eslava) is one of the five international winners of the Container design competition.

Dezeen has teamed up with Design Association in Japan to give five designers free exhibition space in Tokyo during Tokyo Designers Week from 30 October to 3 November this year. The five winners of the competition will be given a free 20ft shipping container at the Container Ground exhibition at Jingu-Gaien in central Tokyo.

The exhibition is promoted by SEACEX (Sociedad Estatal para la Acción Cultural Exterior) and curated by Juli Capella.

"The contents of the exhibition, 100 chairs, 100 lamps and 100 Spanish posters cleary demonstrate Spain´s enormous creative potential and how our designers and companies are in the vanguard of design"

This exhibition was first shown at the Museum of Modern Art in Saitama, Japan, in July 2005. After that the exhibition moves to Lisbon, Athens, Shangai, Pekin and Brazil.
